Around 22 beach huts on the Lower Promenade in Gorleston were broken into between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The huts are a mixture of privately owned ones and borough council-owned ones.

Many owners believe the break-ins happened on Sunday between 6am and 8am and among the items stolen were binoculars and a stove

One owner of two huts is Michaela Davies-Atkins who along with her husband is preparing for their Bertie and Bettie Boutique Beach Huts to enter their fifth summer season.

She felt "violated" to see the damage caused.

"For us, as it is with most beach hut owners, it is a sentimental place, some of us got our hut through inheritance, and others bought them.

"Regardless, they mean a lot to their owners, in different ways.

"The love we have poured into the huts is so special, we love it here,........
