'If you hate our flag, sod off!': MP’s fury as St George’s Crosses torn down
MP for Great Yarmouth Rupert Lowe has blasted the “disgraceful” vandalism, after spending £500 of his own money on 164 St George’s flags to be proudly displayed across the borough.
The 68-year-old MP, who rolled up his sleeves and joined locals to put up the flags himself, said their removal showed a “total lack of respect” for England’s national symbol.

Mr Lowe had been contacted by Chris Kelsall, a local carpenter, who asked for help continuing his efforts to brighten up Gorleston seafront with patriotic bunting.
