Locals say their village is facing 'encirclement' by solar farms
The area around Swainsthorpe has become known as Norfolk’s Solar Valley due to the number of renewable projects in the Tas Valley.
As well as the Bloy’s Grove Solar Farm on the outskirts of the village, developers also want to build the huge 2,718-acre East Pye scheme nearby.
The village is also near to the proposed cable route to take electricity from Norwich to London, as well as a major substation at Dunston and a converter station at Swardeston.
