Police were called to Normanston Drive, Lowestoft, at 9.50am on Thursday by a member of the public who had found a suspicious item in their garage.

Explosive experts were sent to the scene and inspected the object for several hours.

The item was eventually identified as a mortar shell by the bomb squad.

A decision was made to remove the item from its location so........
