Plans for huge poultry unit housing 32k chickens withdrawn
The proposal, first submitted by Mr and Mrs Knowles in 2021, sought to build a 32,000-free-range egg-laying unit at Lime Kiln Farm in Heydon.
Currently under arable use, the site spans about 100 acres and was to host a 121.7m x 23.5m poultry shed with an egg-packing facility.

Manure would be removed twice weekly using a belt system, and specialists concluded odour levels would remain below guideline limits.
