On Wednesday afternoon the Cromer Carnival parade followed a new trial route, after organisers said marshals had faced growing abuse from frustrated motorists in recent years.

Officials say that the new route meant that there would be significantly less road closures that last for a shorter period of time, and the traffic would be able to flow again much faster.
