Wind farm support vessel officially named in Lowestoft
North Star handed over the Grampian Tweed at a special ceremony at Associated British Ports' (ABP) new Lowestoft Eastern Energy Facility, which was officially opened by energy secretary Ed Miliband last week.
The Grampian Tweed completes North Star's fleet of hybrid-powered ships serving the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which is a joint venture between SSE Renewables, Equinor and Vårgrønn.
Once complete, Dogger Bank will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm, generating enough electricity to power up to six million homes annually.
