The inquest of Darren Bemment was resumed at Suffolk Coroners’ Court on Monday,

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash in Halesworth Road in Wissett shortly before 8pm on May 11 last year.

Mr Bemment, 51, who had been the driver of a red Honda Civic, died at the scene of the crash.

In a statement read before the court, Mr Bemment's parents, Margaret and John, said that he was a “quiet and private” man who loved animals.

A qualified ship joiner, he was often carrying out jobs for his neighbours, they said, for which he did not always take payment.
