Stay rooted, embrace your mother tongue

This is with reference to the cover story “Stay rooted, embrace your mother tongue” by Benazir Raz (YW, February 22). The article highlighted the importance of preserving our mother tongue. It beautifully conveys how language is not a tool for communication, but also a bridge to our heritage, culture and identity.

The personal experience shared about forgetting words from the mother tongue resonates deeply with many of us, reminding us of the subtle ways language fades over time.
