Tories are revelling in the 'nasty party' label rather than rejecting it
In the past the Tories have tried to shed the label of the “nasty party” as Theresa May once described them
Under Ruth Davidson, the party in Scotland tried to appeal to a wider base and attract younger voters.
She presented her party as more moderate and in the One Nation tradition that had proved so electorally successful at Westminster.
No one was fooled and the Scottish public still overwhelmingly rejected them.
But now, with new leaders in Scotland and the UK, the party is revelling in the nasty party label rather than rejecting it.
