Donald Trump’s idiotic tariff war is causing chaos around the globe.

And Rachel Reeves now has a big job on her hands trying to sort out the mess.

The chancellor faces a tough balancing act when she visits Washington next week to talk tariffs with Trump.

She needs to let the US know she will not be bullied – but at the same time try to appear open to negotiations.

Reeves says in today’s Daily Record she would rather walk away empty handed than accept a bad deal.

She is absolutely right to take that stance.

There have to be some “red-line” issues which she will not compromise on – such as food standards.

Otherwise we will see our country swamped by cheap, sub-standard US imports such as........
