In Husband’s Photo Scandal, No One Feels Bad for Kristi Noem
Kristi Noem has a remarkable knack for alienating people. While serving as South Dakota governor, she was banned from 15 percent of her own state. While auditioning to be Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick, she published a book revealing that she’d killed her dog. In the same chapter, she described how she’d also “disposed of” her “demon goat.” It takes a lot to get people to feel bad for a “nasty and mean” goat that smells “rancid” because it keeps urinating on itself and loves chasing children. But somehow the question that emerged from this anecdote was why Noem let this animal terrorize her kids for so long.
Trump, nevertheless, picked Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security. During her 13 months leading DHS, she showcased the cruelty of the administration’s mass-deportation push, sowed chaos and distrust within the agency, and promoted herself via taxpayer-funded ads. By the end, she’d turned just about everyone against her. The senator behind the public questioning that led to Noem’s firing was a fellow Republican.
So perhaps it’s no surprise that few people are expressing sympathy for Kristi Noem after the Daily Mail revealed that her husband, Bryon Noem, is “a secret crossdresser who dons gigantic fake breasts and pink hotpants to chat with online fetish models”:
While his wife has operated at the highest echelons of government, handling matters of national security in her recent role as DHS secretary, Bryon Noem, 56, has been dressing up and paying adult entertainers to talk dirty. The Daily Mail has reviewed hundreds of messages involving three women from the ‘bimbofication’ scene — where porn performers transform themselves into real-life Barbie dolls by pumping colossal amounts of saline into their........
