Coventry city centre footfall drop blamed on 'wasted space' and 'squalid' feel
Data from Coventry City Council shows that footfall in the city centre has dropped by more than a half since before the Covid-19 pandemic - and some Coventry Live readers in our comments section think they know what needs to be done to restore confidence quickly in the city centre's shopping, dining and entertainment offerings.
The council report shows that footfall from February this year was just under 55% lower than it was in the same month in 2019. The trend is improving over the years since the pandemic, up year-on-year with some fluctuations.
The report says that the figures may not offer the full picture, saying: "Lower total visitor numbers........
