Drivers slam 75-week roadworks that will cause traffic chaos as 'waste of money'

Coventry Live readers have slammed the proposed A46 roadworks, weighing up the potential advantages against the inconvenience for local commuters. Coventrians could be saddled with nearly 18 months of disruption if improvements commence on a key route through the city.

Plans include implementing narrow lanes and introducing a 40mph zone throughout an estimated 75-week period at the busy A46 Walsgrave junction to facilitate upgrade works. Furthermore, segments of the dual carriageway connecting Coventry to motorways M6 and M69 may periodically close, potentially rerouting traffic along main residential streets during evenings and weekends.
