Good morning CFL fans!

Before I get into what I have learned from this past week, I have one quick observation and one quick question.

The battle for third place in the West is going to be wild. I can make a case for all three teams. Yes, I can make a case for the Blue Bombers as well.

As for the question: Am I jinxing things if I mention that, with the likely return for Chad Kelly in Week 20, we’re on a really nice run of quarterback health, with apologies of course to Hamilton? You know what, forget I asked.

KENNY LAWLER IS ONE OF THE GAME'S BEST RECEIVERS

Think of this more as a "re-learning."

I was as shocked as anyone to learn that Friday’s six-reception, 132-yard, two-touchdown night against the Ottawa REDBLACKS was Kenny Lawler’s first 100 yard game of the season. No one would have imagined that the 2025 All-CFL receiver would almost hit Thanksgiving before hitting the century mark. Obviously the drop in production can be directly linked to Bo Levi Mitchell’s ankle injury he suffered in early July.

We got to see all of Lawler’s strengths in Hamilton’s 34-16 victory over Ottawa. The athleticism was on display on a sliding 29-yard reception in the second quarter with his team trailing 13-3.
