I'm not a saber rattler. If anything, I'm a 'safety rattler' trying to navigate all hazards, including new wartime risks at home. . War isn't my idea of a spectator sport. It costs irreplaceable lives and vacuums resources needed for a functioning society. I don't debate that groups and nations choose warfare. We're undeniably experiencing such a choice now.
Thus far, the homefront has had a confirmed terror attack at an Austin, Texas bar and an IED (improvised explosive device) which didn't detonate during a violent New York City protest.

We've had a nutcase stand on a plane claiming he'd bomb it for religious reasons. As of this post, no device has been found. Suspect was arrested without.incident.

There have also been war-themed bomb threats made against hospitals, schools and airports across the nation. None have been substantiated as of this posting.
Kansas City International Airport has issued the all clear after a bomb threat forced an evacuation. (X Post).
Dispatch audio indicates a caller claimed 3 bombs had been placed around the airport with a 1-hour detonation timer.
All of them have been taken very seriously.
A sad impact of distant war on the homefront is how it's used by cranks and cosplayers to make a scene or quietly make threats online or by telephone.
If we're lucky, misfits and the mentally ill making empty threats will be the worst of the war seen stateside. While upsetting, empty threats beat suffering from real ones.
We need to use cases of cranks or cosplayers as practice sessions to improve upon individual and institutional readiness. You never know when an actual threat will cross your path. Try to stack the deck in your favor by having a plan in mind.
