As the school half-term break commences, Sir Martyn Oliver, Ofsted's chief, has ignited debate by proposing a re-evaluation of the lengthy summer holiday period for students. He pointed out that children are in school for just 190 days out of the year, considering holidays and teacher training days, which is barely over half the year at 52 percent.
