Bell: Call the cops! Is Danielle Smith going to be reported for hate speech?

Don’t think it’s so far-fetched.

Has someone already called the cops on Premier Danielle Smith?

After all, Smith is giving Albertans the chance to vote Oct. 19 on immigration issues.

Because of the immigration vote, the premier has already been called a racist too many times to count.

Smith’s comments on the immigration vote have been called racist and hateful when they aren’t.

Edmonton’s leftie mayor Andrew Knack grabbed headlines a few weeks ago when he came right out and said Smith’s immigration questions were racist.

Every day some other activist puts in their two cents worth.

And Edmonton cops now want to hear about those accused of making racist and hateful comments.

You don’t need skis to go down this slippery slope.

You know, where the law starts in one place and then leads us to another, gaining more and more authority all along the route.

As enquiring minds already know, this week the Edmonton cops have lost it when it comes to hate.

The police in Edmonton are investigating hate crimes. Terrific.

So these are crimes. Violence, threats of violence, damage to property. Bad stuff.

But the Edmonton police make it clear their hate crime investigators want people to report more than just crimes.

They want people to now report hate incidents. Apparently, the crime rate in Edmonton must be low.

What are hate incidents?

Well, the Edmonton cops post on the ever-popular Instagram.

They show examples of hate incidents.

They show statements they presumably want reported to them. They blank out parts of the statements but you can easily fill in the blanks.
