Unlocking Alberta’s year-round tourism potential starts with the places we already love
Alberta’s tourism industry is built on the strength of the province’s breathtaking landscapes, welcoming communities and entrepreneurial spirit. What we have not always had are the year-round tourism opportunities needed to fully unlock that potential and motivate Albertans to spend their hard-earned dollars here at home.
For years, Alberta has watched tourism dollars flow west. Last year, Albertans spent $1.2 billion more in B.C. than British Columbians spent in Alberta because we do not have enough competitive, all-season experiences outside of the national parks. B.C. has more than 13 major resorts on provincial Crown land in key areas that Albertans visit, including Panorama, Revelstoke and Sun Peaks.
It’s now Alberta’s time to shine.
