Biden’s MSNBC exit interview full of misleading claims and lies
President Joe Biden sat down with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell for a highly choreographed Oval Office exit interview, during which he repeatedly misrepresented his administration’s achievements and downplayed the failures that defined his presidency. The interview, characterized by softball questions and fawning praise, highlighted Biden’s willingness to evade accountability for the challenges his administration faced and exacerbated.
From his take on the role of oligarchs in American society to blaming Republican-led states for economic woes, Biden’s remarks painted a misleading picture of his presidency. The lack of critical pushback from O’Donnell only added to the interview’s propagandistic tone, shielding Biden from scrutiny while allowing him to promote false narratives.
During the interview, O’Donnell referenced Biden’s farewell address, in which the president warned about an “oligarchy” threatening democracy.
“You issued the warning about the power of the tech-industrial complex, an echo of President Eisenhower’s farewell address,” O’Donnell said, drawing a comparison to Eisenhower’s concerns about the military-industrial complex. “How does this oligarchy affect people out there who’ve never used the word ‘oligarchy’?”
Biden responded, suggesting that if billionaires control key sectors such as the media and the economy, the average American would be left powerless. Ironically, his comments ignored the reality that many of his political allies and donors are among the very “oligarchs” wielding significant influence over American institutions.
For example, Democratic mega-donors like George Soros, Mark Zuckerberg, and Michael Bloomberg have funneled billions into reshaping America’s political and social fabric.
