Press Section of Trump-hater Muhammad Yunus has already earned the bad name of being the – Band of Goebbels, for its nefarious actions of spreading lies and disinformation as well as openly threatening journalists through posts on social media.

On February 3, 2025, Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to Muhammad Yunus told Mayukh Ranjan Ghosh of Republic Bangla that President Donald Trump becomes ‘Person of The Year’ for “cruelty and brutality” similarly as Bangladesh’s deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As this remark received massive criticism on social media platforms, on February 4, 2025, the so-called ‘CA Press Wing Facts’ under Muhammad Yunus published a post on its verified Facebook page flatly denying the above remarks of Shafiqul Alam and branded the posts on the matter as “misleading”. In the post, Yunus’s office stated:

Another day, another lie intended to create a rift between Bangladesh and the Trump administration. Today a tabloid journalist Salahuddin Shoaib Chowdhury who has been convicted of both provoking interreligious friction and embezzlement is claiming that Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has defamed President Trump. It’s simply ridiculous and an insult to the intelligence of the president whose ire the propagandist is attempting to draw.

As we have said before, the Interim Government has complete confidence that President Trump and US diplomats and his team will see through this transparent effort to create friction between Bangladesh and the United States.

To repeat, we look forward to continuing to work with the United States and Bangladesh’s other friends and allies to combat efforts to manipulate the Trump administration and to create divisions between countries through purely invented propaganda.

The above statement which is filled with lies and distortion of fact was immediately exposed on social media when the video of Shafiqul’s statement demonizing President Trump was published.

Earlier, on January 30, the state-run news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) published a report titled CA Press Wing Debunks Indian Weekly’s Report Involving Bangladesh-US Ties, stating:

A news item on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’s meeting with the president of Open Society Foundations, Alex Soros, published by the Indian weekly The Organiser, is false, the CA Press Wing said today.

“The Organiser weekly in India has launched another salvo in the ongoing campaign of many Indian nationalists to discredit Bangladesh’s Interim Government and to pave the way for India’s proxy, Sheikh Hasina, to resume her despotic rule over Bangladesh”, the press wing said in a statement posted on its verified Facebook account-CA Press Wing Facts.

The Organiser’s latest canard is that the meeting between Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and Alex Soros, president of the Open Society Foundations, constituted a challenge to US President Donald Trump…
