US denies role as Israel strikes Iran, warns against retaliation

Tensions in the Middle East soared this week after a series of Israeli airstrikes struck deep within Iranian territory, reportedly killing a top general, several nuclear scientists, and damaging key components of the country’s nuclear enrichment infrastructure. While the United States has denied any operational involvement in the attack, top American officials have issued stern warnings to Tehran against retaliation, pledging to defend both US and Israeli personnel in the region.

The operation, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion”, was reportedly aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear weapons capability and targeting missile infrastructure allegedly linked to its ballistic missile program. The strikes, which hit near the cities of Natanz, Isfahan, and Arak, have escalated fears of a broader regional war, particularly as Iranian officials vow retaliation and accuse Washington of complicity.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News on June 13, US President Donald Trump acknowledged that he had prior knowledge of Israel’s planned operation. While he emphasized that the United States did not take part in the execution of the strikes, Trump said he supports the objectives behind them.

“Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon,” Trump stated. “Israel acted in its own defense, and the US stands with Israel. But let me be clear – we’re on high alert. We are prepared to defend our troops, our interests, and our allies.”

Trump added that he hopes Tehran will return to the negotiating table to revive or renegotiate a nuclear agreement, something Iran has repeatedly rejected since the US withdrew from the 2015 Joint........
