A growing trend is reshaping the modern workplace: rolling or staggered layoffs over weeks or months, rather than one decisive restricting event. On paper, breaking layoffs into phases seems more manageable and less disruptive. However, in practice, multi-phase layoffs over time are proving far more damaging to morale, productivity and, ultimately, profitability.
