Solvency ratio of typical DB pension plan improves in April: report

The funded status of a typical defined benefit pension plan improved on both a solvency and accounting basis in April, according to a report by Telus Health.

The solvency index increased to 103.4 per cent at the end of April from 98.8 per cent at the end of March, while the accounting index rose to 103.5 per cent from 100.9 per cent during the same period.
