OPINION | GWEN FAULKENBERRY: Lost on the wrong road

Democrat-Gazette online

I've been told the published version of this will list Gwen Faulkenberry as the writer, so I want to make clear from the beginning this is not Gwen, it is Brother Bill, retired pastor from Fellowship Baptist Church of Ozark, and the opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

I am an avid reader of Gwen's columns even though we disagree about many things. I consider her my sister in the Lord regardless of the fact I believe she has strayed in her political views on certain issues and pray fervently for her return to the truth of God's word. I hope you readers will join me in that. I fear it's her association with the radical leftists of our great state that led her astray, but she can repent and turn away from that--just as anyone can; God gives us all an open invitation--and I pray she will do so before it is too late.

I have known Gwen since she was a child, and have great admiration for her family. She was a pretty girl. A sensitive little soul. She liked to ask a lot of questions. Decent musician too. And a tough cookie when it came to Bible sword drills. But she always was very impressionable. Unfortunately, that can be preyed upon and exploited by the devil and his agents.

I was there when Gwen publicly professed her faith in Jesus as a little child, and to this day she insists she still is a Christian. I believe no one, not even the party of Satan himself, is able to pluck a true believer out of his hand. So we can just hope and pray that........
