Families need help
Northwest Arkansas' faith-based community outreach groups are overloaded with food and goods requests. Just one of the church-based pantries I'm familiar with gets 20 to 30 requests daily and also helps with bills if they can. This is just one of the several such organizations in our area.
We need more organizations and Department of Human Services support to help in Northwest Arkansas. We are seeing more and more families struggling to feed their kids. Who cares, you ask? Who will help those in need so they can transition to autonomy?
Please contact your state and federal representatives to urge them to assist our local efforts to take care of families. Tell them to vote in support of SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). It doesn't seem like they care at all about the needs right here.

Many hunters shut out
When it comes to bow hunters in Northwest Arkansas, there's a serious lack of access to public lands for hunting turkeys. It's been made worse by the turkey hunting restrictions at the Madison County Wildlife Management Area.........
