Trump derangement

I find the apparent increase in Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) to be somewhat disturbing. My wife and I have milder cases of TDS that are alleviated simply by imbibing a couple of glasses of wine in the evening, the effects of which usually last until we read the paper the following morning.

We are disconcerted, however, by polls showing that most Americans opposed the "Big Beautiful Bill," which may indicate that TDS is turning into a pandemic. We wonder how a seemingly psychological disorder can be transmitted from person to person.

Help (and hope) may be forthcoming in HR3432 (the Trump Derangement Syndrome Research Act of 2025) sponsored by Republicans Warren Davidson of Ohio and Barry Moore of Alabama, which would direct the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study the psychological and social roots of TDS. Perhaps Congress could also seek remedies for the affliction.

I think that TDS is a two-sided coin in that, if there is an anti-Trump element to TDS, there is also an equal but opposite pro-Trump component. This would help to explain why certain members of the House of Representatives voted for the BBB after raging against the Senate bill because they were directed to do so by Trump. It also explains why many 2024 Trump voters don't regret their vote despite being negatively affected by Trump's policies. Then there are those who react to his pronouncements as if they were words coming from Mounts Olympus or........
