It's no secret that our culture is fascinated by wellness. Everywhere we look, achieving optimal health is tied to purchasing trendy products and services: green juices, supplement gummies, protein powders or even fancy weighted bangles.

While these items may provide some value--at least anecdotally--there's no comparison to the power of positive lifestyle habits. So, what's one of the most impactful practices we can adopt for our well-being? Regular physical activity.

Studies show that exercise can help reduce the likelihood of developing cancer and enhance survival. Research by the American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that getting the recommended amount of exercise--at least 2.5 hours of moderate-intensity activity per week--provides significant cancer-fighting benefits. Data shows hitting this metric lowered an individual's risk of developing seven common types of cancer--breast, colon, endometrial, kidney, multiple myeloma, liver and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
