EDITORIAL: A voice of reason
It says something about the era in which we live--and not anything good--that a governor of Utah fer-cryin'-out-loud, who opposes abortion except in the cases of rape, incest, or danger to the life of a mother, who signed a "constitutional carry" bill that allows people to carry firearms in public without permits, who endorsed Ted Cruz for president in 2016 and eventually endorsed Donald Trump in 2024, a Mormon who took two years "off" to serve a full-time mission before college, who's been elected and re-elected up the chain from a city council to the legislature to Utah's lieutenant governor and governor, is considered by some "not conservative enough" for their tastes.
Maybe not MAGA enough. But Gov. Spencer Cox is certainly conservative enough for conservative thinkers.
Likely most Americans had never heard of Spencer Cox before the assassination of Charlie Kirk, which happened Sept. 10 at Utah Valley University.........
