The New York City Ballet pulled itself out of performances at the Kennedy Center, making the dance troupe the latest in the mass-Leftist exodus from the cultural center since President Trump assumed leadership in 2025.
Known for its embrace of DEI policies, the New York City Ballet won’t be missed by conservatives. But their retreat highlights a prime opportunity for Trump and other right-leaning art lovers: With the right investments, conservatives can use America's 250th birthday to reclaim the arts to promote traditional, patriotic values.
The Kennedy Center is set to close for renovations for two years following the 250th anniversary of America’s founding. President Trump’s Freedom 250 events in D.C. will put a lot of attention not only on what is done with the space before its close, but on our nation’s birthday. As liberal performers retreat from the center, the administration has a chance to use this prime time to platform pro-America acts.
Luckily, there are plenty of popular right-leaning cultural creations that the administration could invite center stage. Frontlining performance groups like the Logos Theatre, a Christian professional theatre company that often performs at D.C.’s Museum of the Bible, would put biblical values in a historically unbiblical setting as a celebration of America’s inherently Christian roots.........
