Happy New Music Friday! We’ve worked hard this week, and we’ve earned some new tunes.
There are definitely some eclectic elements at play on this week’s list. It leans slightly more on the heavy side, but we’re opening with a tried-and-true banger. You’ll dig it.
“Disguise” by Tobe Nwigwe, Sia, and Fat Nwigwe
I find the Nwigwes to be such a compelling musical family. There’s a power to them that’s palpable, but unattainable. You either have it, or you don’t, and they have it.
Tobe Nwigwe’s Hood Hymns (2024) is a top 5 record of the last 10 years for me, easy. His wife Fat has one of the most unique and assertive voices in all of modern hip-hop.
