Let’s be honest, all politicians have the capacity to be really gross people. There is seemingly nothing they will not exploit to advance their own careers. For many, human decency was either sold out or never existed in them to begin with. Can’t we do better than people who exploit tragedy to get ahead?

Former Member of Congress David Trone, one of the wealthiest people to have served in Congress and someone who fought hard to force you to pay for his pet causes when could have simply cut a check himself, used the death of his nephew from a drug overdose in campaign ads repeatedly. Claiming it was why he cared so much about the issue, Tronerepeatedly ran ads citing the death of the 24-year-old.

Imagine that call with your sibling, how the hell does anyone do that? “Hey, remember that worst day of your life a few years ago? I’m going to use my fortune to run ads re-opening that old wound non-stop. You cool with that?” 

Maybe he didn’t even make the call.

I live in the district that creep, who also ran a pro-abortion ad featuring his two young daughters, represented and I can tell you he ran both those ads constantly, as he has more money than sense.
