A New Day in America

3 7
previous day

Way back in early 2023 when it became obvious that former President Donald Trump was going to run once again for the Republican nomination for president in 2024, I was opposed to him.  Not because I was displeased with what he accomplished during his first term in office.  But I believed that he could not win the 2024 election.  A belief that was obviously proven wrong by the November election results, and President Trump’s resounding victory over then Vice President Kamala Harris.

I just feared that Trump couldn’t win, and I was obsessed with preventing the Democrats from remaining in the White House and fulfilling Barack Hussein Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform the United States of America”.  Clearly an intended transformation into a socialist-communist totalitarian regime.

I was hopeful that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would win the nomination and move forward into the November election as the Republican nominee.  I felt that he was the Republican that had the best chance of defeating any candidate put forth by the Democrats. I also believed that based on his record in Florida DeSantis would do a good job as the nation’s Chief Executive.  I still think Governor DeSantis would make a fine president one day, though who knows if he will ever get the chance.

Well contrary to my concerns, President Trump indeed did win........
