Granted, Prime Minister Mark Carney’s government prefers to say, as Environment Minister Julie Dabrusin recently told the CBC, that, “Our targets remain the same … we always knew that they were ambitious targets, right? So that was always going to be a stretch. But that’s the whole point of having ambitious targets … it forces us to do that stretch.”

No, it doesn’t. In the real world, whenever a politician starts talking about a “stretch”........
