Editorial: Signs of progress on workplace misconduct
When a top aide to Gov. Kathy Hochul was accused of sexually harassing a coworker, that aide was quickly put on leave as an outside investigation was launched. We'll happily call that progress, even if we still have questions about the transparency of the process.
Certainly, there's a welcome contrast to the secrecy and stonewalling that followed misconduct claims made within the administration of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, including the sexual harassment allegations lodged against the Democratic governor himself. Mr. Cuomo denied any wrongdoing as he resigned from office and has since waged a fierce legal battle against some of the women accusing him of misconduct.
