Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration has moved to release some state prison inmates who are within 110 days of their release date and have a verified residence to go to. To hear some critics tell it, it’s the first step on the road to anarchy.
“She wants to open the prison doors,” said Assemblyman Brian Miller of Oneida County. “Criminals are winning,” tweeted Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay of Pulaski. State Sen. James Tedisco of Ballston Lake called it a "recipe for disaster for public safety."
