I arrived at Veterans Place in Beacon at 12:52 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. It’s a short stretch of a street just south of Main. Several hundred people had already gathered. Everybody had their signs: some sarcastic, some reproachful, some revealing, a few with irreverent language. All poignant nonetheless.

All of the signs and posters, regardless of the language that they used, reflected the same sentiment: America is no place for kings to rule.
