Commentary: I think my kids have joined the resistance

President Donald Trump doesn’t think my daughters need 30 dolls. Two should be enough, he says. Although I’ve vehemently disagreed with the president in the past, I must admit, this time he’s right.
When asked at a recent Cabinet meeting about the potential for his tariff policies to raise prices on American goods, President Trump said, “Maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls,” and he added, “Maybe the two dolls will cost a couple bucks more than they would normally.”

In a follow up interview with NBC a few days later, President Trump clarified: “I’m just saying they don’t need to have 30 dolls. They can have three. They don’t need to have 250 pencils. They can have five.”
