Bassett: Knapp playing USGA’s toughest test for amateurs
Hayden Knapp, a 15-year-old golfer who recently completed her freshman year at South Glens Falls High School, won the 95th NYS Women's Amateur Championship on Tuesday at St. George's Golf & Country Club in East Setauket.

Hayden Knapp, a 15-year-old from Gansevoort, is playing Bandon Dunes, Ore., this week in a field featuring the top ranked amateurs in the world.
She’s one of 156 golfers competing in the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship on one of the most challenging and scenic courses in the United States, with her parents, her grandmother and her two brothers watching. It’s a summer to remember for the Knapp family.
