Yes, I holed out with a 7 hybrid on the 125-yard 9th hole during Pinehaven’s “The Audrey” tournament, a match-play event that kicks off the women’s competitive golf season for Capital Region golfers. I’ve watched a few women mark a “1” on their scorecard on that hole during the Epson Tour Casella Golf Championship professional women’s golf tournament, and it was surreal to do it at the same location for my first career ace.
Since it happened, I’ve been asked many times: “Why haven’t you written about it?”
Well, it’s not very newsworthy, I say.

But I do know some fabulous hole-in-one stories.
I have a friend, Bonnie Fry, who plays out of Barefoot Resort and Spa in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., who just recorded her 14th hole-in-one. When she was sitting at career No. 13 in 2023, she was randomly paired up with a woman from Florence, S.C., who also had 13 aces. Bonnie knew of........
