Exploring Letchworth State Park in western New York

As a college student at the State University of New York at Geneseo (“In the Dark Ages,” according to my teenager), I lived just a few miles from Letchworth State Park. Unfortunately, because I didn’t have a car while in college, I only got to visit its impressive gorges and waterfalls once.
Being without a car in a rural setting meant I spent almost all of my time on campus, with excursions limited to walking into town. So as an adult, Letchworth, sometimes called the “Grand Canyon of the East,” was high on the list of places to go during a return trip to Geneseo.
