Commentary: Get PFAS and other toxins out of menstrual products

In recent years, there has been increasing awareness and concern surrounding PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, and their impacts on human health. PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” are found in everyday products like cookware, food packaging and cosmetics. But what if I told you that these toxic substances may be even closer to you than you know?
PFAS, along with chemicals like lead and arsenic, are also found in tampons, menstrual pads and period underwear. In other words, they’re placed on or in some of the most absorbent parts of the body, and repeated exposure to these chemicals over the decades........
