New York’s corrections system is in crisis, and Gov. Kathy Hochul’s plan to release inmates early puts public safety in jeopardy.

Hochul fired over 2,000 correction officers after they struck over brutal conditions. Now she wants to free inmates up to 110 days early to fix the hole she created. This is not a real solution. It threatens every New Yorker who relies on a functioning justice system.
