The resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, triggered by widespread student protests over alleged examination paper leaks and irregularities, represents a defining moment in India’s democratic and educational system. The resignation came after the unabated student protests, which became intense with each passing day. The student concerns over the paper leaks and general frustration with the education system is understandable. There have been numerous paper leaks of the competitive exams, which take a heavy toll of students’ mental state. The NEET paper leak became a trigger to vent those frustrations accumulated over the years.
