The decision to revoke Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri’s degree from the University of Karachi has been suspended.
Karachi: The Sindh High Court has suspended the decision of Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri to cancel the degree of the University of Karachi.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the petition against the cancellation of the degree of Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri by the University of Karachi.
Advocate General Sindh, Registrar University of Karachi Professor Imran Siddiqui and others appeared in the court on this occasion, where the Registrar University of Karachi said that we received the notice the day before yesterday, so we should be given time to respond.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro inquired how much time do you need for the response? The petitioner’s lawyer Barrister Salahuddin took the position that the parties should be given time to respond but the order should be suspended until then.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that we are giving you time, but what if any action is taken against the petitioner during this time? If the order is later withdrawn, how will the loss caused to the petitioner be redressed? Who will be responsible........
