The Space Force regularly tracks some 40,000 objects in space. Crucially for the US military, it can see targets on land as well.

The United States Space Force, the sixth and newest branch of the United States military, is playing an active role in the ongoing conflict with Iran. It has been involved in the war with Iran in several ways, including conducting electronic warfare (EW), disabling Iranian communication systems, tracking Iranian missile launches, and providing crucial satellite communications (SATCOM) to US forces. The Space Force has also provided targeting intelligence to degrade Iran’s air defenses.
