Schenectady needs better governance

It’s utterly disappointing and embarrassing to see the current direction of Schenectady’s city government and school district.

Instead of investing in proven, community-based solutions, we continue to pour money into policing even further in the halls of our schools.

We don’t need more cops criminalizing our children; we need trauma-informed professionals, mental health support, educator support systems and community programming that understands the challenges our youth face. Safety doesn’t come from surveillance; it comes from care.

Equally shameful is the rejection of Good Cause Eviction........
