Political commentators suggest that Donald Trump is resorting to political stunts to distract from the nagging “Epstein Files” investigation.

His invitation to Vladimir Putin for an Alaska summit to discuss the war in Ukraine, a conflict he claimed he would end on day one of his presidency, and his seizure of Washington, D.C. to address an alleged “crime emergency” and clear homeless encampments are often cited as desperate attempts to get the Epstein story off the front pages.
