Cuts are coming to medical coverage
For those of you who believe that the current administration’s tax cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act will not affect you, think again.
Recently I have become aware that a local insurance provider of a local health organization who has historically covered care to all age groups, will no longer provide coverage to their Medicare-insured clients.
These recent cuts are resulting in changes to covered services. These changes may not be disclosed to you by your healthcare provider or their billing team. So be aware these changes to CDPHP, MVP, and the Affordable Care Act are just some of the surprises ahead.

Drive-thru ruling raises questions
If Gazette readers only saw your news articles, they might not realize there was anything fishy about the Schenectady Zoning Board of Appeals [ZBA] permitting a Starbucks drive-thru on a lot in the downtown portion of Erie Boulevard.
Because the Zoning Code specifically says, “drive-in service facilities” are not permitted in the downtown district, the ZBA twice before rejected the request of the owner to put a drive-thru at the same location. No variance is allowed when the applicant bought the property knowing the code banned the use it wanted.
The law and the facts have not changed, except that new attractions are making traffic even worse. The ZBA still has no authority to amend the code. So, why did the ZBA swallow the........
