Not pleased with city public officials lately

From what I see as a citizen — the latest fabricated outrage against the Schenectady police on the Family Night incident with the arrest of a teenager carrying a real looking pistol.

The radical council and school board members voiced to the media their displeasure of how the SPD handled the situation.

First, a huge thank you to the police for their diligence and focus on public safety. They identified a potential threat and neutralized the situation. This incident came in the wake of what happened in Albany on the 4th of July with teenagers and guns.

Yet the radical voices tried to disparage and condemn the SPD efforts. I would like to remind you when the community agitator protested at an ice cream shop and the owner pulled a BB gun, she called the police. They responded without prejudice with helicopters and an all-out effort to find and arrest the owner. No outcry then for the SPD tactics to protect the public. Maybe the problem is the radical elected members.

Next point — the city capital improvement projects never end up being the actual price tag.

How many taxpayers have the option when planning home improvements can absorb a 100%-150% cost overrun? The city says, ‘whatever; the taxpayers can absorb it.’

We need to start........
